IPad Air 4 is not charged and turned on (PD chip CD3217 is damaged)
[Fault model] iPad Air 4
【 Fault Phenomenon 】 No charging, no startup
[Maintenance process] I received a machine sent by a customer for repair, the model is iPad Air 4, and the fault is that it does not charge and does not start.

There is no current when the charger is plugged into the machine, which is definitely wrong. First, remove the motherboard, plug in the tail plug and measure the 5V voltage of the tail plug into the motherboard. If there is 5V to the motherboard, turn it on.blueprintLooking at the points, we found that 5V was directly sent to the PD chip CD3217 after several converters, and it was normal to measure 5V on the C8500, indicating that the voltage had been sent to the inside of the chip, but the chip didn’t work. We roughly tested the resistance to the ground around the chip, and no obvious short circuit was detected. This kind of chip has power supply, but it doesn’t work, which is usually caused by the damage of the chip itself or the unsatisfactory working conditions. We just have a CD3217 at hand to replace it directly.

Start the test again. At this time, plug in the charger and you can see the charging icon. The current is about 2A, which means that the tablet has started charging, and it is normal to charge the motherboard to 95%.

[Maintenance Result] Install the motherboard into the shell.mobile phoneIt can be turned on normally, and the functions of WiFi, Bluetooth, voice, charging, fingerprint, taking photos and making phone calls are all normal, so the maintenance is over.
